Epidemiologische gegevens

• BELGIE: NETWERK VAN NATIONALE REFERENTIECENTRA VOOR HUMANE MICROBIOLOGIE

In België worden de epidemiologische gegevens ingezameld door Sciensanso [voormalig Wetenschappelijk Instituut Volksgezondheid (WIV)] dat daarvoor een beroep kan doen op een netwerk van nationale referentiecentra (NRC) en -laboratoria.

• EUROPEAN ANTIMICROBIAL RESISTANCE NETWORK (EARS-Net)

  EARS-Net is het grootste met publieke middelen gefinancierde systeem voor de surveillantie van antimicrobiële resistentie in Europa en is gebaseerd op routine klinische gevoeligheidsgegevens afkomstig van lokale en ziekenhuislaboratoria die door ECDC aangestelde vertegenwoordigers van de lidstaten worden gerapporteerd.

Zo staat EARS-Net onder andere in voor de surveillantie van de gevoeligheid van 7 bacteriën die frequent infecties veroorzaken bij de mens: Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Acinetobacter spp., Streptococcus pneumoniae, Staphylococcus aureus, Enterococcus faecalis en Enterococcus faecium.

EARS-Net is eveneens verantwoordelijk voor de samenstelling van het panel van antibiotica die voor elk van de betrokken bacteriën moeten worden getest volgens de European Committee on Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing (EUCAST)  richtlijnen.

• ProMED (Program for Monitoring Emerging Diseases)
